Evangelia Kalaitzi is another African eco-warrior, animal rights activist and proponent of a greener earth.

As founder of HealthyWise and Evangelia Nina K accessories, her artistic flair and concern for Africa had grown into a well-known local, ethical brand, while at the same time, creating much needed jobs for the poor in South Africa. Her beautiful products ensure consumers can easily go “green,” without having to forego style.

Focusing mainly on ethical issues, Evangelia and her staff create quality, functional products. After successfully completing a handbag construction course and armed with the tools of the trade, Evangelia Nina K is becoming a sought-after brand in the fashion industry.

Consumers with a conscience are not only assured of a unique product at an affordable price, but by buying an Evangelia Nina K product, support local communities and the less fortunate. Evangelia uses local suppliers and manufacturers, believing that every cent of local currency should be ploughed back into the country’s economy.

BLURB:

“Our manufacturers are people within our local communities, so whether an individual artist or a team is contributing to the making of our products, we ensure that they are of great quality, made with love and care, whilst supporting the South African economy.”- Evangelia Kalaitzi

This highly ethical and forward green thinker studied Information Technology, but realised that her future lay in artistic pursuits which could also benefit others. She started out painting pottery pieces and sold it with the candles she decorated at local craft markets. She even made her own chocolate! However, once she realised that there is need in the market for originally designed, affordable handbags, there was no stopping her.

As with all business ventures, Evangelia said the journey had been challenging and slower than originally anticipated, but every step had been worthwhile as the request for ethical products continuously grows across the world.
