Go Fresh! had brought the latest greenhouse and hydroponic technology to Botswana, providing food and jobs with locally grown vegetables available all year round.

Michelle Adelmann had employed the latest technology with state-of-the-art safety compliant quality and operational systems. With team members, Neil Taylor and Caitlin Pereira, this enterprising African woman had established not only one, but three organisations under the aegis of Accite, of which award-winning Go Fresh!, is one. Between the three members of the core group with their international business expertise and pan-African experience, sustainable food businesses are built to be eventually handed over to local entrepreneurs.

A plant-based distribution side had been added to Accite Holding – Infinite Foods, which had last year won the accolade as global Best Plant-Based Food Business. Pioneering a unique approach to provide African consumers with access to healthy international brands within their own continent had seen this brand become a household name and a competitor to take note of.

The products of Go Fresh!, Infinite Foods and Crossover Quality Meats are supplying the people of Arica with food products which with less negative environmental impact and a large social conscience.

Committed to raising young leaders, all three companies focus on the development of young people with Acctite’s staff members sourced from the Botswana College of Agriculture graduates. In South Africa, the organisation had entered into partnership with Invictus Education to work with and also hire graduates from their training programmes. “Our corporate commitment to hire and develop youth leaders is at the core of everything we do,” Adelmann told the Absa Lionesses blog interviewee. Her dream had always been to give back to Africa by using her talent and expertise.

All Accite’s businesses deliver affordable, nutritious, environmentally sensible food to Africa according to a socially responsible structure, new food and the latest agriculture technology to solve some of Africa’s most pressing social ills such as malnutrition, poverty and land reform.

Plans for the near future include cold chain distribution, especially with relation to informal markets and while, producing true African plant-based foods, empower farmers to care for the future of the continent.

A fourth enterprise had seen the light and Fodder Green grows high-quality animal feed using only 0.5% of available and less land than growing lucerne (alfalfa) in an irrigated field. Fresh barley and legume sprouts are grown 365-days a year. High in protein, minerals and amino acids, fresh sprouts provide a highly nutritious feed for cattle, horse, pigs, small stock, chickens and game that leads to superior feeding results. With Fodder Green still cutting its teeth as part of Acctite’s highly acclaimed products, it is already producing 1.5 tonnes of fresh feed per day.
